Siemeniä/Seeds

Puutarha-hulluus iski. Tilasin siemeniä ison kasan. Pitäisi tulla chilejä, kirsikkatomaatteja, palsternakkaa, salaattisipulia, herneitä, salaattia ja apilaa (tarkoituksena saada pari kohtaa paikatuksia takapihalla pienellä apilaniityllä :)). Lisäksi ostin Hulluilta Päiviltä kaksi orkideaa. Enpä ole aikaisemmin moisia pitänyt. Kaveri on onnistuneesti pitänyt omat orkideat elossa jo vuosia hyvin vähäisellä hoidolla. Jospa mulle olisi kerrankin tuuria. Kissatkaan ei vielä ole kasveja huomannut. Yleensä rontit ahmii kaikki mun kasvit...

I went garden-mad last week. I ordered some seeds. Chilies, cherry tomatoes, parsnips, onion (salad), peas, salad and clover (I'll have a tiny clover field in my back garden :)) I bought 2 orchids for the living room as well. Never had those before but I thought I give it go. A friend said that even with little care she has managed to keep her orchids alive for years. Maybe I am as lucky :) Positive thing is that my cats haven't paid any attention yet for the orchids. They usually eat all my plants...

Päätin, että teen skräppikirjan tärkeistä hetkistä. Hääpäivä, lasten ristiäiset jne jne. Ostin sitten albumin samantien ja lisäksi kivoja papereita jne.

I decided that I'll start my own scrap book. The most important moments in my life. Wedding day, children's christenings etc etc. I bought the book and some papers already :)

Lapasia/Mittens

Kutaisin pikaisesti lapsille lapaset. Lankana kaksinkertainen Lanett. Nyt pitäisi olla lämpimät ja kutittamattomat. Tosin pitäisi kutoa ainakin vielä yhdet per muksu. Lapaset menee aikamoisen huonoon kuntoon lasten touhuissa. Omien neuleiden ohella pitäisi lapsille kutoa vielä pipot ja kaulurit. Kevät on kuitenkin vielä aika viileää kautta ja keväthaalarin kaulus ei ole yhtä korkea kuin talvihaalarin.

I quickly knitted mittens for the DS's. The yarn was Lanett (double yarn). They should be warm and non-itchy. I do have t knit another mittens soon-ish. Mittens don't last that long in everyday use. As well as knitting my cardigan and vest, I'll knit hats and neck warmers for the kids. Spring isn't that warm and the mid-season overalls do not have as high collar as the winter one. I have to trust my dictionary with the kids clothing vocabulary. Even if I was working as a nanny in the UK many years ago. Well, I never met a kid with outdoor overalls, so maybe that's why I do not know the correct words? :)

Vesirokot on nyt kärsitty ja sain antibioottikuurin kurkkuni takia. Jospa tästä terveempänä pääsisi kesään?

The chicken-pox has finally left the building and I got antibiotics for my throat. Maybe just maybe our family will be healthier for the summer?

Vietin sitten tänään parisen tuntia tasohiomakoneen kanssa. Jannujen huoneen seinän tapetti on liimattu elementteihin rakentajan toimesta. Ottaa aivoon moinen puuha! Pikkusen jäi vielä seuraavaan kertaan, mutta hissuksiin. Armas mieheni vietti sitten saman ajan lapsia viihdyttäen ;)

I spend a few hours with a surface-grinding machine. I need to paint the wall in kids bedroom and the builders have glued the wallpaper to the wall panels. How annoying! I still got a few spots of wall paper to grind but I'm getting there. My DH spend the day entertaining the kids ;)

Nuo sukat haluan tehdä. Ennen kuin maksan ohjeen, pitäisi tutkia lankavaihtoehtoja. Villaa se ei voi olla, mutta joku sekoitelanka? Villa kutittaa pohkeissa aina.

I want to knit those socks! Before I order the pattern I need to think about the yarn. Yarn cannot be wool, because it's always itches (calf-area at least). Maybe cotton-mix yarn?

Yarn-addict?

Huomasin virheen kuopuksen slipoverissa, joudun varmaan purkamaan ja tekemään etukappaleen uusiksi... Päätin sitten ottaa välityöksi Greendayn. Lankana Debbie Blissin Cotton Cashmere.

Kurkku on vielä kipeä, pitäisi kai olla jo koisimassa. Jotenkin vain sitä jää aina jumiin koneen ääreen. Tarkoituksena oli laittaa kuvia, olen jopa napsinut muutamia ihan blogia varten. Kameran akku loppui ja toinen akku oli unohtunut taskuun laturin sijasta. Huomenna yritän muistaa tiputtaa kuvat koneelle. Napsin kuvia pienestä neulontakirjastostanikin.

I noticed a mistake in DS's vest. And of course my younger sons vest. I might have to do the front all over again. Luckily it's size 2y. It won't take long, as soon as I get the motivation to do it. Is the term "frogging" in English?

After that I desided to start another vest. This time one for myself. This is the pattern. I'm using Debbie Bliss' Cotton Cashmere.

I've still have a sore throat. I guess I should be in bed already but somehow I'll always seem to get stuck by the laptop. I was going to download some pictures I specially took for this purpose (my blog I mean). The camera's battery was empty and I forgot to charge the spare one. I'll try to remember to do it tomorrow. I took some pictures of my knitting-library as well. Not that many books to take pictures of.

I received an email from my SP today. Very exciting!

Tunnustus/Confession

Jospa nyt uskalla tunnustaa hamsterikuukauden jälkeisen sekoamisen... Angel Yarnista tilasin tosiaan lankaa, sen tunnustinkin jo. Mutta kävin Tarjoustalosta ahkemassa Novitan bambulankaa (ostin kaiken ruskean mitä kaupassa oli eli 350 g), tosin mukaan jäi myös 2 kerää 7V:stä ja 2 kerää Tennesseetä.
Puolustuksena, että jokaiselle langalle on suunnitelma ja realistinen vielä ;)

Bambusta tulee liivi, 7V:stä muodostuu tilkuiksi ja lapsille pipoiksi ja Tennesseestä tulee neuletakki (varastossa on nimittäin 4 kerää tuota lankaa jo valmiina odottelemassa)

Maybe it's time to confess my behavior after the yarn diet month... I already told that I ordered some yarn from Angel Yarn. Well, I did buy some yarn from a local store. 300 grams of 7 brothers yarn (wool+PA), 350 grams fo bamboo+cotton yarn, 200 grams of cotton yarn.
In my defense, I have very realistic plans for all of that yarn ;)

Bamboo+cotton is for a vest, 7 brothers is for my blanket and hats (for my sons) and cotton is for a cardigan (I bought 400 grams of that same yarn earlier).

"Äiti, mua kutittaa....", "Mommy, I'm itching..."

Esikoisella on siis vesirokko... Kuopus ei vielä ole näppyjä saanut... Niitä odotellessa. Reppanat. Kauhia katsoa, kun toista kutittaa ja raapia ei saa. Sympatiakutina vaivaa vanhempia.

Apua, joka lehdessä/nettilehdessä on ihania ohjeita! On Knittyn Isabella, Clessidra ja sitten vanhoja haaveita eri lehdistä. Millä ajalla nuo kaikki saisi itselleen? Kuopuksen slipoveri on kokoamista (ja hihansuuta sekä kaulusta) vaille, esikoisen slipoverin takakappale on aluillaan. Itselleni haluan ruskean, vihreän ja punaisen slipoverin/topin ja vadelman värisen neuletakin.

Chickenpox found my older son. My younger son doesn't have the rash yet, but I think he'll get it soon. My poor little darlings. Horrible to watch, the whole little body is itching and we're telling him not to scratch. My husband and I are feeling the sympathy itch.

Help, there is so many lovely patterns around! There is the Isabella and Clessidra from Knitty and all the favourites from older magazines. How will I get the time to knit all of them? The vest (slipover) for my younger son is almost done and I've already started one for my older son. And I want a brown one, a green one and a red one for myself... I'm greedy ;)

Tilasin Angelyarnista lankaa ja yhden kirjan. Debbie Blissiä tietenkin. Cathayta ja kesäneulekirja. Cotton Cashmerea omaan slipoveriin lisää ja loput Cathayta. Haaveilen neuletakista työkäyttöön.

I just ordered some yarn and a book from Angelyarn. Debbie Bliss Cathay and DB book "Summer Essentials". Hopefully the yarn will change into a nice cardigan for work :)
